Neil Pearse

My professional focus and purpose is to transform organizations to become more energetic and transparent, more satisfying and successful. For the last fifteen years I have specialized in the areas of organizational change, senior team effectiveness, leadership development, and individual executive coaching.

I have worked across a very wide range of organizations – primarily large global corporates, but also governmental bodies, educational and religious institutions, family businesses, and not–for–profits. I believe I am best suited to working with organizations, teams, or individuals facing especially tough tensions or crises.

Close clients have described me as ‘making serious matters fun’ and ‘serving as our critical friend’ – and this is my aspiration.

I spent most of my working life with Monitor Group, the global strategy consulting firm, operating out of London and Boston. For over a decade I focused on business strategy issues, and then retrained as an organizational facilitator and coach, serving Monitor’s largest clients across the world in this capacity. Among many internal operational responsibilities, I headed Monitor’s internal Human Resources function in Europe.

I hold a First Class degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford, where in addition I took a Master’s degree and taught philosophy. I was a Postgraduate Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis, and I mentored as a coach and facilitator with Monitor thought leaders David Kantor, Diana Smith, and Chris Argyris.

I live with my wife and step–daughter in central London. I am a fanatical Everton football supporter, a follower of contemporary arts and thinking, and a practitioner of Zen Buddhism.
