My work covers three main activities within leadership development: facilitating alignment to create high–performance leadership teams; designing leadership development programmes; and executive coaching of individual leaders.
As a facilitator and coach I bring strong problem–solving and structuring skills to the table as well as empathy and a real care for people. As a pragmatic person, I like to make things tangible and concrete.
After a career of twenty years with McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam, I established my own consulting practice in 2007 and dedicated myself fully to leadership development. Over the years, I gained a lot of hands–on experience in coaching and team facilitation at McKinsey and studied coaching and leadership development with a.o. Marshall Goldsmith, Miles Kierson and Gita Bellin. I am licensed in MBTI and the Richard Barrett Cultural Transformation Tool.
I hold a Master’s Degree in art history (cum laude) from the Free University in Amsterdam (1987), a Bachelor’s Degree in law from the University of Amsterdam (1984) and a Master’s Degree in business administration from the Rotterdam School of Management and the Wharton Business School (1987).
I am married to Harry and we live in Haarlem with our four children, our dogs and our ferret. My hobbies include singing, reading, traveling with my family, and wine tasting.
Alongside my work as leadership facilitator and coach, I hold several supervisory and advisory board positions in the profit and non–profit sector (a.o. Frans Hals Museum, Stichting Lezen & Schrijven, Vereniging Rembrandt). I am also an active member of several networks of female leaders in the Netherlands and member of the Taskforce Talent naar de Top.
